Ann Poole is local to Keswick and has more than 40 years experience trekking in the Lake District. Before joining Fell-trekkers.com in 1995 Ann persued a career in education teaching Modern Languages at Lancaster University. Whilst teaching she continued her association with the Lake District leading groups of students on climbing expeditions all over the world as well as locally. In 1995 she and her husband Ron moved back to Keswick and started a craft business specialising in pottery and glass. Ann is not only an accomplished climber but also enjoys canoeing on many of the Lakes. She shares this knowledge and experience with young people by leading activity weeks as part of Gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards. With regards her favourite Lakeland location she says:
"For me the epitomy of the Lake District is Langdale. Sitting in the centre of the National Park the view from the summit of Harrison Stickle, with awe inspiring vistas in all directions, is a truly magical place."
