Cherry Garth is a 19th Century family run guest house situated in Ambleside at the Heart of the English Lake District. It is run by sisters, Amy & Viv and is superbly positioned less than five minutes walk from both the centre of Ambleside and Lake Windermere. Guests benefit from a sunny south-westerly aspect with wonderful views over the surrounding Lakeland fells.

Cherry Garth is a non-smoking house which welcomes well behaved pets. We have 11 en-suite bedrooms including four-poster, deluxe and family sized rooms. All rooms have tea/ coffee making facilities and TV/ DVD. Drying facilities and packed lunches are available on request. We have ample off-street car parking at the bottom of our garden. The house and garden are floodlit each evening to allow guests the option of sitting outside, weather dependant, of course!

The breakfast room and lounge area have views of the garden and towards the fells of Lougherigg and Coniston Old Man from the large window. Breakfast is served between 8am and 9am, although other arrangements are negotiable.

Glencree is a beautiful Lakeland stone, licensed guest house cum Hotel perfectly situated midway between the villages of Bowness and Windermere. Glencree has been completely refurbished. All rooms are tastefully furnished with thoughtfully chosen fabrics that lend a warm friendly feeling to the house. The ground floor has a large guest lounge with a colour TV, a newly built walk through dining room and a large bedroom for guests who have difficulty with stairs. The delightful, individually designed bedrooms are all centrally heated, have en suite bath or shower rooms, tea and coffee-making facilities, alarms, hair dryers, toiletries and remote-control colour television.

Vegetarian meals can be arranged and any special dietary needs may be catered for. And, for those special occasions, champagne and flowers can be requested prior to your arrival.

Ivy Bank is a pretty Victorian era house built in the 1890's using local slate and to this day retains many of its original features. Situated on a quiet road away from main thoroughfares we are within a few minutes walk of the railway station, coach stop and village centre. As well as providing comfortably furnished and attractively decorated guest accommodation Ivy Bank is also a family home. We aim to provide an informal and relaxing atmosphere as a base for any activities you wish to pursue. We can advise you on the best places to eat out as well as walking, cycling and sightseeing opportunities in Cumbria, Hadrian's Wall country or the Western Dales.

We have five individually decorated bedrooms, four doubles and one family room, all are en-suite with showers and on has a bath. All bedrooms have TV, hair dryer, alarm, corkscrew & glasses, tea nad coffee making facilities and a range of toiletries.

Kirkwood Guest House in the Lake District is ideally positioned for exploring The Lakes. Situated between the two bustling towns of Windermere and Bowness on Windermere we are ten minutes walk to the start of both towns.
